little things

October 20th, 2009

This week we pushed out a few little things to albumexposure you might appreciate.

We heard from a few of you that when designing albums in InDesign, spreads are numbered with a single digit, which causes them to be out of order when you upload them to your album.  Now AlbumExposure will automatically rename the file “spread_1.jpg” to “spread_01.jpg” for example, which will save those of you experiencing this some time and headache.

We also added a confirmation when deleting albums so you won’t accidentally click delete on any album and lose your work :)

You might also notice that emails coming from AlbumExposure regarding comments or approval for an album will also have the name of the album in the subject to help you identify which album emails are regarding more quickly.

Lastly, we recently created a page for AlbumExposure on facebook.  It’s got our blog articles, and our videos up there.  We’d love for you to become a fan, share it with your friends and even start discussions there.

More to come!

September 23rd, 2009

Today we’re very excited to announce a big new feature in AlbumExposure.

We were brainstorming ways to make your lives easier and one thing that kept coming up was connecting to the next step in your process – getting your album to print.  So we did it.

When you upload your full resolution spreads to AlbumExposure, you can send them straight to print with the click of a button. We’ll even make sure they’re the right size for you.

Our first partner is KISS Books, and we couldn’t be happier to be working alongside them.  KISS makes fantastic wedding books, simple and elegant; right up our alley.

Maintenance

September 21st, 2009

AlbumExposure will be unavailable very briefly (15 min or so) today at 18:00 (6 PM) PDT for some scheduled maintenance. We’re doing some upgrades to prepare for a big announcement tomorrow!

Stay tuned!

Album Embedding

September 10th, 2009

Today we’re happy to announce a new feature we’ve added that many of you have requested:  the ability to embed an album on another web page (sans the comment box) to show off your album on your blog or website.

Like so:

Enjoy!

custom email templates

August 26th, 2009

Today we launched a feature many of you have been asking for: the ability to customize the email text that goes out when you click “send link”

You can find it under Preferences > Email

If you enter the text {url}, {name} or {password}, those will get replaced with the appropriate value for the album you’re referencing when you click send link.

Enjoy!

AlbumExposure Affiliates

August 14th, 2009

If you were looking closely you may have already noticed, but today we would like to officially announce the AlbumExposure Affiliate Program.

It’s pretty simple:

For every person you refer to albumexposure, we’ll pay you $5 up front and 5% of every payment after that for as long as they’re an albumexposure subscriber. (If they sign up for an annual plan you get $15 up front and 5% recurring).

win-win.

Further details and some banners and links to post on a blog or website like the one below are under “affiliates” once you log into your albumexposure account.

Now, go get paid :)

New Blog

August 13th, 2009

wordpress

Well, it looks mostly the same because we’re using the same theme, but we’re now running wordpress here.  We’ve had a lot of success at ELEVATION setting up and customizing wordpress for several of our clients, so it was time to migrate one of our own blogs over.

Most of the links seem to have translated nicely, but if you find a broken one, drop us a comment :)

screencasts!

July 3rd, 2009

We just added two screencasts to the homepage of albumexposure, and we they’re pretty slick. The first demonstrates the functions and features of albumexposure to better communicate the value to people who are just checking it out.

The second walks through customizing albumexposure to match your branding via logo, background color and masking your url.

Hope you like them!

Just pushed out a decent sized update to albumexposure:

Timezones: You can now select your timezone under preferences, and the time on comments submitted will reflect that timezone.

Album Viewed Flag:  This was the most requested feature on our “feedback forum”:http://albumexposure.uservoice.com, and so we added it. When an album is accessed via the album password (rather than being logged into albumexposure and previewing the album) the album is marked as viewed, so you know if your client has viewed the album.

Various Fixes: A virtual plethora of under the hood improvements went out today that should make albumexposure faster and more stable. Among these was an issue affecting files uploaded with uppercase extensions, which is now history.

Keep talking to us on our feedback forum, and via email at support [at] albumexposure.com. We’re listening.
